Three items in this update:

  • a new book I want to recommend
  • early notice of an upcoming online event
  • new program to help get more value from LinkedIn

New Book: Age of Context

Robert Scoble and Shel Israel, both outstanding communicators about new technologies, have collaborated to produce a new book which I for one found quite fascinating to read. Published just a few days ago: Age of Context: Mobile, Sensors, Data and the Future of Privacy

It's available on Amazon, where it has already attracted an array of 5 star ratings. And justifiably so.

As I read, I enjoyed, was challenged, laughed, and sometimes felt a bit of "future shock". I shared some of that during the week in a blog post, Age of Context: a New Book by Robert Scoble and Shel Israel.

Given the breadth and complexity of the subject matter covered, the book is amazingly easy to read. I thoroughly recommend it for anyone interested in understanding what is emerging with technology and how that is affecting and will affect our lives, our health, our businesses, our cities.

Early notice of an upcoming event

A little while ago I accepted an invitation to participate as one of the specialists in a 3 day online conference focused on digital lead generation.

Over the next few weeks I'll be sending a couple of messages focused just on that event and how you can connect with it.

New program to help partcipants get more value from LinkedIn

Regular readers of this update will be aware of, and some will have participated in, the event I started just under a year ago, the 30 Day Linking Blitz  - #30DLB - all self-starting, no financial cost, all volunteer-run.

Many people have shared with me that they have gained great value from that program. and I do intend to keep that event going in pretty much the same format - intention is to do another in Q1 next year.

I'm also about to launch very soon a more intensive, paid program, called Linked Intensive , which will be over a 14 day period. I've put together a package of activities and resources for that and I'm pricing it at what I believe is a very accessible amount for business professionals. Launch date will be on or about Monday Oct 7.

Still putting some details together but about this time next week I will send another update with more details and an early bird offer. Watch for the email.

Best wishes for your success and happiness.

Des
