Marketers have been complaining for some time that organic reach no longer exists on social media and that brands have to pay for adverts if they want to engage with their target audience.

As Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social networking platforms try to squeeze more revenue from users, the halcyon days of gaining a lot of business traction from "organic" content, versus paid, seem to be fading fast.

This article offers no solution, but does includes some stats which spell out some of what is happening.
