So I'm not alone, it seems, in finding Snapchat mysterious and confusing - especially in not being able to find anyone I know or know of. In this excellent article, HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes reveals that he was in the same boat and then discovered how to make sense of it all and how to find and follow people.
I’m talking about a free tool called Ghost Codes, a brilliantly simple app that lets you find interesting people on Snapchat and helps you get discovered, in turn. (A nifty app called Peek also fills the same niche, with the bonus of offering video previews from Snapchat users.) Whether you’re interested in
celebrities or CEOs, Ghost Codes offers up a directory of the leading Snappers in the space. It’s essentially a cheat sheet for following the right people and learning how to use Snapchat effectively.

It's been said or written plenty of times that a great advantage for marketing in the digital age is that we now have so much data that can help us target and constantly refine our efforts, so as to meet the market more effectively.
But how to get the
relevant data together so as to facilitate that process, is a question that needs to be answered.
This article provides some practical advice and tips that can benefit any business from a one or two person operation to a large corporation.
Once you have all the relevant data in one place and can link it all together, you'll gain a much deeper understanding of the actual impact social media has on your business. You'll also learn to steer clear of vanity metrics, such as “likes”, which may be ultimately meaningless if
engagement isn’t the core metric you’re after, and instead focus on the things that actually matter according to your predefined goals.

A story, which on the face of it may seemt not instantly engaging for readers outside Australia,
but an object lesson in how big incumbents in any industry ignore or dismiss disruptive technology at their peril.
Fi comments on a recent Citi report that shows major, listed Australian retailers lagging behind international online retailing benchmarks and local, smaller retailers
in securing market share.
All’s not lost yet for Australia’s big retailers, but much ground has already been ceded to international and local competitors — e-commerce channels continue to proliferate and captivate consumer attention. Major
retailers need to work out a strategy to integrate these digital channels into a cohesive omni-channel offering that breaks down old ways of thinking about retail to embrace a customer-first mindset.
