Being able to produce live streaming video, without fancy equipment or a professional studio environment, has become extraordinarily accessible and is being widely touted by many as the new best way for us to market our business offerings.

This article offers three quite good suggestions for people who want to give live streaming a try but are not sure about how to create content.

Live video has been taking over social media platforms in an unprecedented way. Social media networks like Facebook, Instagram, Periscope, beBee, and Snapchat all have a version of live-streaming. Millions of users across the world are both creating and consuming video content at an astonishing rate.

Linkedin will use a combination of algorithms and an editorial team to identify trending storylines relevant to our respective industries and "personalized" for us (does that last bit please or worry you?).

Each storyline will have its own hashtag. For the USA now and other countries "soon".

Today we’re excited to announce the launch of Trending Storylines. Storylines are daily curated interest-based feeds about the most important developing stories in your industry. They help you discover and discuss news, ideas and diverse perspectives from the largest group of professionals, publishers and editorial voices ever assembled.

#fakenews seems to have become the latest dismissive hashtag for political "discussion" online. Facebook and Google particularly are being challenged to address the issue of authenticity (and maybe "appropriateness") of supposed news on their platforms.

This article offers four approaches that have so far been used, from fact-checking using purportedly independent sites, through to the use of independent evaluators.
I found the article interesting although it did not give me much hope of any really worthwhile solution, at scale, coming through any time soon.

Facebook and Google are trying to deal with the problem of fake news and offensive or factually incorrect information and face issues with their relevancy algorithms.
...
The challenge is to redesign an algorithm to prevent junk and fake news being distributed while respecting the fact that there are people out there who like this stuff (sensationalism and biased information undoubtedly have their audience).
