Three juicy bites this week for Social Business Bites.

First, the item about emojis got me thinking (slow to the party) about the positive and negative potential for emojis in B2B communications, not just for fun with friends. Next there is the article about building "a thriving brand presence" on Instagram - very timely for me as this week I'm diving into Instagram with that in mind. The third item is about the Facebook pixel, why we should be using it, and how to install it on our websites - very easy process if you have a WordPress site.

There is a new feature - on Artificial Intelligence. Following up on the research I did for my keynote in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in December, on "Coaching in the Cyber Physical World", I'm super keen to share what I'm learning about Artificial Intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR) and all that. Generally I feel very positive about these developments but there is a dark side, which this excellent article from MIT explains in scary detail. We need to know the downside risks, not just the benefits, of the technology we use (or which uses us).

And as explained below, I've extended by almost an extra week my New Year special offer on Laser Coaching, to Wednesday Jan 31st.

The workings of any machine-learning technology are inherently more opaque, even to computer scientists, than a hand-coded system. This is not to say that all future AI techniques will be equally unknowable. But by its nature, deep learning is a particularly dark black box.
