NOT EVERYONE LIKES CHANGE AND INNOVATION
Following on from an amazing, full-on, six day business mastermind and entrepreneurial mindset event, I’ve been refocusing on key factors in creating the success I aim for in my business.
One essential factor is communication.
And I can see a particular aspect where I feel a need to lift my game.
It’s communicating effectively about change.
Not everyone responds positively to talk of change or innovation.
Because no matter how promising, timely, or even essential, you or I might see a new way of doing things, a change in the “order of things”, there will be others who react negatively, or at least with caution.
With that in mind, I am now addressing that issue in communicating effectively about my business.
My aim is to attract people to consider my main business offering, a platform and community where people can gain a comprehensive education and training in online business, especially in affiliate marketing.
That message will not be for everyone.
I have a very clear picture of the kind of people I want to attract.
My ideal business associates.
And of those I don’t want to attract.
I don't want to attract lazy or negative people.
People who won't take responsibility for themselves, who are always blaming others, or the weather, or the government - someone or some thing.
People who want a get-rich-quick scheme.
I only want to attract people I will like to hang out with as well as work with, people I would be happy to have a meal with and have great conversations.
I know that for some of those I do want to attract, my ideal business associates, the concept of doing business online, or specifically with affiliate marketing, is not something they will be familiar with, and even when explained may not resonate with how they see themselves.
Or with how they want to be regarded by others.
For them, it might prompt a major change in their thinking about just what “doing business online” may entail.
Some wiill be open to learning.
Others might see that as too challenging.
Too disruptive of their “order of how things should be”.
So, without a change of perspective and change of heart, those people will also not be the ones I invite to team up with me and my colleagues.
On the other hand, I'm super confident that there will be many who will be positive, entrepreneurial, great to work with, and curious to find out more.
Visionary people.
People who are ready to get ahead of the curve.
Open to new ways of doing business in this age of rapid technological innovaton.
And I am excited about the story I have to tell them.
A story that will make sense to them, in terms of appropriate business strategy for our times, in terms of return on investment (ROI), in terms of sound business systems, track record, and proven results.
Even in terms of status and the prospect of belonging to what is in some real respects an elite group of people.
People who understand where business is heading and how to adapt to the new circumstances, technologies and methodologies.
To be frank, I believe I have a bigger challenge than I may have previously realised!
The challenge of communicating the attractiveness of what will for many be a very new way of doing business and creating financial freedom.
